Driver Ummah ("we", "us", "the app") helps Muslim private hire drivers in London find nearby prayer facilities. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Your privacy matters to us, and we collect only what's needed to make the app work.
Information we collect
Account information. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address from Google to create and identify your account. We do not receive your Google password.
Location data. With your permission, the app uses your device's location to show prayer facilities sorted by distance from you. Your location is used to power this feature and is not sold or shared for advertising.
Content you submit. When you add a facility, leave a rating, or submit a correction, we store that contribution so it can appear in the app for other users.
Usage information. We may collect basic technical information (such as device type and general app activity) to keep the app working and improve it.
How we use your information
We use the information above to provide and operate the app, show you nearby facilities, display and moderate community submissions and ratings, maintain your account, and improve and secure the service.
Third-party services
Driver Ummah relies on trusted third-party providers to function:
Google — for sign-in and for maps and location services (Google Maps). Their use of data is governed by Google's own privacy policy.
Glide — the platform the app is built and hosted on, which processes data on our behalf.
Aladhan API — used to display prayer times. [Remove this line if not yet live.]
We do not sell your personal information.
Data retention
We keep your account information and submitted content for as long as your account is active or as needed to operate the app. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see contact below).
Your choices and rights
You can turn off location access at any time through your device settings, though distance sorting won't work without it. Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To make a request, contact us using the details below. As we serve users in the UK, we aim to handle data in line with UK GDPR principles.
Children
Driver Ummah is intended for adult private hire drivers and is not directed at children under 13.
